Plantain chips are the regional savoury snack equivalent of potato crisps across Central America and the Caribbean, with a denser texture and a starchier, less greasy character. Strips rather than rounds give a longer, crisper piece. Typically salted rather than sweet, despite plantain’s fruit origin, since the fruit is used green. Reseal to keep them crisp.
