A 250g bag of chicharrones, fried pork skin, in the criollo style. This is a genuinely traditional Latin American snack rather than an industrial invention, eaten on its own, crumbled over soups and beans, or with lime and hot sauce. Very high in protein and fat with effectively no carbohydrate, which has made it popular with low-carbohydrate diets in recent years. Strong flavour and a distinctive brittle-then-chewy texture.
