Geisha grown in the Boquete highlands of Chiriquí province, above 1,500 metres, is the coffee that built Panama’s reputation in specialty markets. Its cup profile is unlike ordinary coffee: jasmine and bergamot aromatics, peach and tropical fruit sweetness, a light tea-like body and a long clean finish, and first-time drinkers frequently say it does not taste like coffee at all. Panamanian Geisha lots have repeatedly set world auction records above a thousand dollars per pound and score above 90 points with specialty graders. Best brewed as pour-over or filter to preserve the aromatics.
