The elixir concentration of Jean Paul Gaultier’s Le Male, and considerably richer than the original: amber, honeyed sweetness and warmth in place of the lavender-and-mint freshness that made the classic famous. Elixir concentrations carry the highest oil load in a fragrance line, so a single spray goes a long way and over-application is the common mistake. Best suited to evenings and cooler conditions, where its weight works rather than overwhelms.
