The Mini 12 adds automatic exposure, so the camera sets brightness itself rather than requiring a manual dial, which is the single biggest cause of ruined shots on earlier models. A twist of the lens engages close-up mode for selfies, with a small mirror beside the lens for framing. Film is sold separately and is the ongoing cost. Uses AA batteries.
